The first stage of any project is the consultation. This is a chance for me to get to know a bit more about what you would like this gift to represent, where it will be, and some of your own favourite books from childhood.
This will also be an opportunity to set a timeline for delivery and note any books that the child already has.
Following the consultation I will send through a project brief to make sure that you are happy with the all the details of the project.

Once details on the brief have been agreed, I will get to work on assembling the collection.
I make the choice not to keep books in stock for use in collections to ensure that every book is chosen purely on its own merits and for how it fits into the selection as a whole.

Once the books have been assembled, I will do some work to cover Dust Jackets in archival wrappers so that they stand out on the shelves, and pack the collection with a booklist and reading guide.
The books will be shipped to your choice of location and to an agreed timeline.
I will supply a separate quote for the cost of shipping during our consultation.

The books that are read aloud often form our earliest memories. Whether it is a daily ritual with a parent or grandparent, or sitting with our first teachers in nursery, they form our first experiences of the realms of imagination, and our first associations with the comfort of great storytelling.

I have seen how important these first influences can be in my work as an English Teacher, as well as my more recent experience as an uncle of three.
